Why not Java Panoramas? The two most common ways to view VR Panoramas are with QuickTime plug-in and with a Java Applet. Java Panoramas can be seen without any Plug-in on most computers. QuickTime is a 4 mb download which takes about 20 minutes to install with a standard modem or 2 -3 minutes with broadband. About 30-40 % of all internet users have it installed. First of all, Java applets can only play panoramas in a very small size if you want that all shall be able to view them. A QuickTime Panorama can be viewed in Full Screen on most computers. Java applets are very crash prone and many computers just freezes and you have to restart. Also the speed that they load are very slow compared to QTVR. This is very evident if you have a broadband connection.
