The installation of QuickTime is normally very simple.

Just click on the logo above and follow the instructions on the installation page.

The first download is a small installer which you can save on your desktop.

You can choose between full installation about 7 mb download or min. installation about 4,2 mb. To see most VR panoramas you only need minimal installation.
However the last version QuickTime 5.02 has some new functions which are used in many of the new very impressive video presentations now available on the Internet.
To see these you need the full installation.

QuickTime 5 is not necessary for all panoramas in VR Aarhus but I recommend upgrading. Video and sound is significantly improved in the last version 5.02.
And the cubic panoramas are amazing

Instead of using the standard installer you can download a Standalone installer (9 mb) containing all you need for full installation. The link to this is at the bottom of the download page.
You can also use this installer to install QuickTime on other computers .
Burn it on a CD and take it with you to your friends.
Problems : The only known installation problem is if you are on a network with a firewall. This can cause problems using the standard installer and is easy solved by downloading the standalone installer..

Windows IE 5.5 SPDK2 and IE 6.0

In aug. 2001 a problem came up when Microsoft in the above 2 browsers stopped support for what they call Netscape type plugins. The result was that QuickTime no longer worked in these browsers. The problem was solved very fast by Apple who developed an AktiveX plugin which has to be used by the above browsers. This plugin is now included in the standard installation on Windows and the problem will only come up if you upgrade to IE 5.5 SPDK2 or IE 6.0 on a computer where you already have QuickTime. It is solved by going to this page. You will be asked to install ActiveX. Say yes it only takes a minute.

If you have the standard Explorer 5.0 or 5.5 you will also be asked to install ActiveX at many websites with QuickTime. Say yes to the installation and you will not meet it again. The ActiveX plugin also solves a another problem which has been common on Windows.
Hijacking of QuickTime movies by Windows Media Player

Media player can play standard QuickTime video movies but not VR Panoramas. You will see it as images the wrong way. If you install Media player after QuickTime this could happen. The easiest way to solve it is to Install ActiveX
