VR AARHUS BIG · FULL SCREEN PANORAMAS

The QuickTime Panoramas you usually find on the WEB are often displayed in a size not more than 400-500 pixels wide. However they are often 500 kb in size.

This size can be displayed in fullscreen up to 1068x768 pixels and in my opinion this is a much better experience. A 500 kb panorama at 1068x768 fullscreen will not give you any extra details when zooming , however the experience of being at the place looking around is much better.

The Full Screen panoramas in VR Aarhus are 400 - 1000 kb in size and many of them can be seen in full screen up to 1068x768 without severe pixelation.

Full Screen panoramas are loaded from the THUMB NAIL page by clicking on the FS button

When you click on the FS button a PRELOAD page will open in the upper frame. This page contains the panorama as a hidden movie and loads it into your browsers cache. When you load it into full screen before it is completely downloaded it will continue loading the remaining part.
Full Screen panoramas are 400 - 1000 kb large and take 1.5 - 4 minutes to download with a 56k modem, but you can load them into FULL SCREEN and see them after 20-40 seconds because they are optimized for streaming.

It is possible to view a small panorama while the full screen panorama is preloading. This will of course
increase the download time for both panoramas. Loading will be divided between the to panoramas.

PC 350 mHz and 64 mb ram
MAC 200 mHZ and 64 mb ram

The recommendation above is only an approximate requirement.

Some tips if you have problems:

• Reduce the resolution of your screen to 800x600 if you have it set to higher.
• The window is resizeable. You can drag the window to any size. The panorama will follow.
• On Mac increase the memory setting of your browser to at least 15 mb. I have Explorer set to 40 mb.
• Close all applications besides your browser.
