The images here are screen shots from QTVR created from the same panorama file.
The screens shots have all been saved with High Quality JPEG

With the same compression the difference in size and sharpness is very large between Cinepak and JPEG. Look how the bricks disappears in Cinepack.

To get a usable quality with Cinepak you have to use normal (50%) compression and the file becomes about double the size as JPEG and Sorensen.

Below is screen shots of the Tulamben movie from panoramas.dk Full screen week 45

The first has ben compressed with Cinepak at the optimal setting. The movie is 4.4 mb
Below is exactly the same movie from the same Photoshop PSD file compressed with JPEG LOW 25%) setting. The size is 1.1 mb. The original PSD file is 41.8 mb uncompressed
The Jpg movie is the one you can se at panoramas.dk
Look how the Cinepak destroys areas in the image even at this optimal size.

In the area of the small circle Cinepak compresses different in one of the tiles which divides the movie right there. So you can get large areas with two colors because the area is divided in two of the movie tiles.
